If you are looking for a great snowboarding helmet I would recommend Ruroc! Ruroc is the first company to design and manufacture an integrating helmet, goggle, and mask assembly for snow sports. The helmets do everything that Ruroc specifies. Let me remind everyone that the face mask feature is OPTIONAL! On most occasions I don't even equip the face mask but if temperatures are less than favorable, I always have the option of protecting my face. The few times that I have used the mask, I have been quite thankful that I had it. My personal assessment is that Ruroc is ahead of the curve when it comes to innovation in this particular area. I stated in a previous blog, that this helmet assembly is not for everyone. However, if you are searching for a helmet that will not only keep you safer on the slopes but comfortable as well, Ruroc is the way to go! When I'm on the slopes, the last thing that I want to prevent me from having a good time is being uncomfortable and cold.
Ruroc helmets range from £165 to £395 or $265 to $634 US dollars. The pricing structure for the helmets might appear rather expensive at first glance. But when you combine the cost of a good helmet and goggles, you are spending approximately the same amount of money. Ruroc takes the hassle out of finding a helmet and goggle set. I purchased one of these helmets and it is way overpriced and poor quality. The customer service is THE WORST, but not surprising because of their VERY unprofessional owner Dan Rees.
